DOES ANYONE LIKE BERT?

let’s get serious for a second. does anyone like bert keeter in this season of project runway? for a moment, i thought he might prove to be an interesting villain-character that keeps the show’s ratings up, but that can’t be true. while hated, a villain at some point intrigues the viewer because deep down, we can relate to him or her in some way. in bert’s case, he clashes with too many aspects of the show and leaves the viewer confused and frustrated. bert even makes wendy pepper look like a lovely runway alum. despite being one of the oldest people to compete on the show (if not the oldest), he’s ridiculously immature and difficult to relate to. he makes any teamwork challenge appear unbearable and painful, especially for tim and the judges. exhibit A:

but in that episode, anthony’s design was atrocious and bert’s was at least “presentable.” the judges couldn’t pay close attention to bert’s problematic antics and instead were appalled by anthony’s work. my take? anthony at least has proven himself in other challenges. he has worked with and gotten along with others and created both memorable and impressive designs. as for bert, the reality remains that unlike the other designers, he hasn’t produced a look that is interesting enough to land him a real victory. perhaps if bert was somewhat likeable and open to working with others, my opinion would be different. or may be if he wasn’t responsible for this in episode 5:
